ISAA SPILL RESPONSE ORGANIZATIONS (SROs) ACCREDITED UNDER  THE ALL-IRELAND ACCREDITATION SCHEME GUIDE TO LEVELS OF ACCREDITATION AND DISCIPLINES IN WHICH ACCREDITED STATUS HAS BEEN AWARDED

Accreditation Levels
Level 1	Level 2	Level 3
Able to respond to smaller spills where the required action does not need high level resources of equipment and manpower	Able to respond to respond to intermediate size spills demanding more resources but not large scale events that are complex and difficult to deal with	Able to respond to larger spills that demand higher levels of equipment, manpower, knowledge and experience

NOTES

(1) These are generalised level awards based on an overall assessment in the identified response disciplines.

(2) Some SROs have high level specialised capabilities in certain types of work that, because not recognised as a separate accreditation discipline, are not reflected in accreditation level awards.

(3) All SROs ISAA accredited under the All-Ireland scheme are encouraged to co-operate with each other in order to ensure that all necessary resources and skills can be brought to bear on the work in hand.

Key to Accreditation Disciplines in which Accreditation has been awarded
FW	Fresh water oil spill response - rivers, streams, canals, lakes, ponds, etc.
SL	Shoreline – clean-up of oil pollution on all types of shorelines
M	Marine oil spill response – ports, harbours, estuaries and open sea
GW	Groundwater contamination remediation
OL	Response to on-land oil spills
TR	Response to road/rail oil tanker rollovers and other tanker incidents

Examples of indicators showing accreditation disciplines and level awards
FW1	This SRO is currently accredited at level 1 for response to freshwater spills
M2	This SRO is in process of accreditation for marine oil spill response at level 2
GW3	The accredited status of this SRO has been temporarily suspended in this discipline
